We have brought together a selection of comfortable, protective and stylish helmets for cycling around town. From vintage-inspired helmets to folding helmets, not to mention helmets with lights, there are a whole range of options to protect your noggin. What really matters is that you actually want to wear it!
While bicycle helmets are not compulsory for adults and children over the age of 12, they do provide protection, particularly in the event of a fall. Children under the age of 12 must wear bicycle helmets. This essential protection for any self-respecting bike rider comes in several styles with vintage, folding, lighted, visor, etc.
What can hold adults back from wearing bicycle helmets can be the look of the helmet. Yet our selection promises you some great finds with bike helmets in vintage, foldable, bright, colourful or more sober styles. The objective is above all that you find a helmet that you like and that you will want to wear in order to be protected throughout your journeys.
If you like old style bike helmets, you can opt for vintage bike helmets with for example the Speedway Heritage Noir Thousand bike helmet which has a one-handed fastening system, a vegetal leather strap and is also ultra-lightweight for added comfort. You can also choose the Lifestyle urban bike helmet with visor for its superb high-end finishes and Italian manufacture which is available in sizes M and L. For even more chic style, check out the Atlas helmet from Egide and its leather lining.
If you're looking for helmets that will take up as little space as possible, you can turn to a folding helmet. Our selection will allow you to find models at all price points for example the Closca folding helmet which combines ingenuity, elegance and safety. The Overade Plixit Fit Folding Helmet will also come in handy to take up minimal space when stored.
There are also lighted helmets to make it easier to be seen for example the Abus Hyban bike helmet with integrated visor and light which has LED lighting.
As far as children under 12 are concerned, helmets are a compulsory accessory. The model chosen must be approved and have the "CE" mark. The adult accompanying the child must therefore check that the child is wearing a helmet and that it is also fastened. Failure to comply with this requirement can result in a fine of up to €750. Generally, this will be a fixed fine of €135.
We offer models of children's helmets from the brand Bern dedicated to bike rides for the youngest. Available in several sizes depending on the age of the child, these helmets can also be chosen in several colours. They have an integrated soft visor, an adjustable headband and 7 ventilation channels. The child's helmet can also be complemented by adding reflective stickers to the helmet so that it can be seen more easily at night or when visibility is poor.
